GASL MSP meeting & Regional Conference on Sustainable Livestock Transformation held in Chiang Mai, Thailand

13th Global Agenda for Sustainable Livestock Multi-stakeholder Partnership meeting & Regional Conference on Sustainable Livestock Transformation held in Chiang Mai, Thailand, from 30 October to 03 November 2023. The global event united over 200 representatives and experts from 35 different countries and gave a great opportunity to discuss on the sustainable livestock sector, food and nutrition security, animal health and welfare, environment, socio-economic aspects, and innovation.

In the event participated Mr. Batbaatar Bayarmagnai, CEO and coordinator, Dairy Asia, Dr. Tashi Yangzome, Dairy Asia Focal point to Bhutan, Director, Department of Livestock, Bhutan, Mr. Jeerasak Chobtang, Dairy Asia Focal point to Thailand, senior officer, Department of Livestock Development, Thailand, and Ms. Marilyn Mabale, Dairy Asia Focal point to Philippines, National Dairy Authority, Philippines.

As one of panelists to the plenary session of environmental drivers of change affecting livestock systems, Mr. Batbaatar Bayarmagnai spoke on the current activities related the series of Dairy Asia dialogues, proposed initiatives for establishing World Yak Association, and further actions. He noted that herders should be tremendously focused, and a building cooperative system for herders in remote rural has a key role in the sustainable livestock with all economic, social, environmental and cultural development aspect.

Ms. Marilyn Mabale, Dairy Asia focal point to Philippines attended in the plenary session of geopolitical and socio-economic drivers of change affecting livestock systems, and as one of panelists, she introduced the current situation of dairy sector in Philippines, its most facing challenges, and focused activities for the dairy sector in the country.

During the GASL MSP meeting, the Share-Fair has been presented, and Dairy Asia’s booth №36 delivered the relevant information to participants.
